Site update, including a big change to submission guidelines

I can't believe we are already almost six months old now.

I've got to say I'm mostly happy with the way the site has progressed so far. We're getting enough submissions to keep things running, at least :)

Traffic has been fairly consistent throughout the entire half-year. I was hoping for a bit more of an upward slope on the weekly hits, but consistent traffic is definitely better than decreasing traffic. About 40% of our visitors are return visitors, so I'd like to send many thanks out to our loyal readers.

So with that out of the way, I'd like to announce a change to our submission guidelines. I've decided to open the site up to pieces larger than 1000 words. Starting December 1, we'll be accepting short stories up to 3000 words. We'll continue to list as a token paying market, but the short stories will receive a tiny bit more pay than the flash stories.

In the spirit of keeping this site a flash fiction site, any stories over 1000 words will be serialized. For more details, check out the submission guidelines.

So to our readers, thanks for reading. To our authors, thanks for writing. I've really enjoyed running this site so far, and don't plan on stopping any time soon.
